Welcome to the very first edition of XM LOANS Ltd. monthly newsletter “The Mortgage Optimizer” which will address topical issues regarding Mortgages and Home Ownership.  The goal of this newsletter is to inform and educate readers about their rights, and options as it relates to their goal of home ownership or their existing mortgage loan.

Okay, so you’ve decided that this will be the year you become a home owner.  So off you go to your realtor, placing your down payment on that fabulous hill top lot.  Next up is your  architect;  You instruct him to draw plans for your split level, 4 bed, 2 ½ bath dream home and needless to say, his professional services do not come cheap.

Sounds like a typical approach to home ownership right?  But nothing could be further from correct than what is described above.  In my over than 15 years in Banking and Mortgage Brokerage, I have seen person after person make the mistake of starting their home ownership process in the middle of the process instead of at the beginning.  Unfortunately, lots of money is wasted and lost as a result of the lack of knowledge on the part of the potential home owner.
