Student Tuition Loans
Whether you're attending College, Institute of Technology, or University, getting a higher education is one of the most important things you can do to qualify for a satisfying and rewarding career. Lenders realize that it's not just about tuition fees. Student loans come from two primary sources -- the Governments Student Loan Program and Private lenders. In order to obtain government student loans, you will first need to submit your application for all financial aid including government student loans. The government loan is made in the name of the student, is based on need, does not require a credit check (it's guaranteed by the government rather than credit/income/assets, etc.) and does not have to be repaid until after the student graduates, leaves school or stops attending on at least a half-time basis. If government loans are not enough to cover your educational expenses, if you do not wish to make payment of principal and interest while in school or if you want a loan that is in the student's name, there are private student loans (sometimes called alternative student loans). Private loans are made by banks and other lenders. They must be used solely for education expenses, but offer convenience and flexibility not found in other government loan programs. However, you will need good credit and most students will need a qualified co-signer in order to obtain a private loan. Also, while interest rates, fees and other loan program terms are competitive, they vary widely from lender to lender. It is important to compare your options before choosing a private loan.
An education in the US is very expensive. Tuition, room and board at an undergraduate institution will cost from $10,000 to $40,000 a year, depending on the school. A graduate education can be even more expensive. There is very little financial aid for foreign nationals to study in the US, with the possible exception of citizens of Canada and Mexico. Most grants, scholarships, and loans from public and private sources are restricted to US citizens. Fortunately for international students we have found useful information about financial aid intended for you in the links below. Scholarship Options In addition to traditional financing, there are many scholarship options available. The following organizations may provide a welcome alternative for funding education for students: The Foundations have well-established histories in helping raise the level and standard of philanthropy in the community. The Lyford Cay Foundation Inc. was founded in 1969, originally organized by members of the Lyford Cay Club. The Foundations serve as "vehicles for giving" to The Bahamas and provide a way for people who care enough about The Bahamas to put their money to work for the improvement and betterment of all. The International Scholarship Search is the premier financial aid, college scholarship and international scholarship resource for students wishing to study abroad. At this site, you will find the most comprehensive listing of grants, scholarships, loan programs, and other information to assist college and university students in their pursuit to study abroad.
